IN REFERENCE to the recent stoppage-time debate, why does football officialdom make such a pigs ear of applying the rules?
Much canbe learnt from rugby union, for instance, with timekeeping taken out of the referees’ remit and a separate timekeeper stopping the clock when the ball goes dead.
