APRIL Smith says she hopes other women will follow in her footsteps after making history in the dugout on Friday night.
Smith became the first female ever to manage an match in the Essex Senior League when she took charge of White Ensign for their game against Ilford in the absence of first-team boss Aaron Bloxham.
“I hope it becomes more common and I don’t see why it can’t be,” Smith said.
