THE recent merry-goround of football clubs sacking managers suggests that some club chairmen – and indded supporters – have a misplaced sense of entitlement and unrealistic expectations.
Many clubs have been in existence for in excess of a century and have never won any major trophies. Some have never reached the top-flight of football, let alone had any significant periods of sustainable success.
When some clubs reach the pinnacle of the football pyramid after, in many cases, years in relative obscurity they have in reality massively over-achieved.
