National League South side Hampton & Richmond have appointed Alan Julian as their new manager.
The former goalkeeper (pictured scoring his only career goal for Billericay at Sutton United in 2019) retired at the end of the 2023/24 season after 645 senior appearances, the last 87 of those with Hampton having joined in September 2020.
Last season the 41-year-old joined the coaching staff at Beveree, working under Mel Gwinnett, who departed on May 3 after 16 months in charge.
Julian is the third manager in a row of the Step 2 club to have previously been a goalkeeper, following Gwinnett and Gary McCann.
In a statement on the club website, the club’s Managing Director William King said:
“Everyone who knows Alan knows what a model professional he is and the level of love that he has for the game.
“Playing to such a high standard throughout his career, and demanding only the very best from his teammates, we are excited to see him take these skills and his desire into management, especially during such an exciting time for the Beavers.”
