A LEADING official is lobbying the FA to innovate when it allocates clubs to divisions or risk pinch points worsening.
Paul Lawler, the North West Counties League (NWCL) chairman, has proposed that more teams should be relegated from his competition’s top flight to help ease congestion.
“This isn’t a new idea but we believe it’s still the best one,” he told The NLP. “The challenge we face is local, and a targeted intervention would allow us to overcome it.”
