IT’S tournament time and England are involved so, inevitably, we’re all hearing some old favourites.
Sweet Caroline. Three Lions. World in Motion. Oh, and let’s not forget that immortal classic, Ten German Bombers. Seventy-nine years really should have eroded enthusiasm for a song about winning the Battle of Britain, but no.
There were the England fans, drunk and topless on the streets of Dusseldorf, singing about shooting down Germans and brandishing an inflatable Spitfire just in case any of the locals failed to get the gist.
