CHASETOWN returned to the Scholars Ground on Saturday for their first home pre-season game as they went d ownto a youthful Aston Villa side in front of over 1,000 fans.
Villa dominated the majority of the match and might have led early when Kerr Smith fired over following a goalmouth scramble.
Chasetown, however, had chances too – Jack Langston heading wide from a free kick on 22 minutes and Danny Glover’s close-range header forcing a save out of Sam Lewis.
