COMEBACK KINGS:Witney Town are back on the football map after 11 years away

The relaunch of former Hellenic and Southern League team Witney Town this season has been a major success story.
This comes after an 11-year absence from Non-League competitions.
With a proud club history dating to 1885, I first saw the original ‘Blanketmen’ appear at their long-standing Marriotts Close headquarters in October 1985.
On that day, they drew 0-0 with Bromsgrove Rovers and the attendance was a mere 178.
