AFTER reading last week’s letter from Sean Birchnall about refereeing standards (NLP Nov 3), I assume he is critical because his team was on the wrong end of some decisions.
Of course, referees will make mistakes, after all they are only human, but it’s a hard job. You hear it all the time, managers especially, berating the referee’s every decision.
It has also been reported of referees being assaulted so it’s no wonder recruitment is down.
