Struggling to find a gift for your partner this Christmas? Look no further than a piece of cool signed football memorabilia. We’ve teamed up with our friends at Firma Stella to bring you a selection of items which you can buy for a loved one whatever your budget.
The market for football memorabilia is hot right now, and short of stumbling over a rare, signed football shirt or trophy in your grandparent’s loft you’re going to have to venture online to find that perfect gift. Top of the tree are signed football shirts, which, depending on the team and the player can go anywhere from £250 right up to £10,000 and beyond. The most highly priced ones are signed by whole teams or superstar players. Legacy pieces also go for high sums – think George Best and Pele. These iconic players are not signing anything anymore, so you’ll find that not only are they some of the most expensive pieces to buy, but they will continue to keep rising in value as the years pass.
The collecting market is a fascinating place to hang-out. If you can spot a start of tomorrow you can pick a signed item up now for a modest price and watch as it soars in value along with the career of the player! This is the smartest type of collecting, but you have to be patient. Value won’t rise over night!
So what can you buy now for a loved one at the various price points? Let’s start at the lowest end of the scale where you can buy signed white cards and photographs as a great Christmas present.
