GATESHEAD will feature Middlesbrough youngster Lewis Sirrell in their squad when then welcome Alfreton Town to the International Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The 19-year-old plays on the left side of defence or midfield and was handed his first professional contract by Boro in the summer.
He joins the Heed on a one-month loan and has been drafted in as back up at left-back while Dan Smith feels his way back from injury Luke O’Brien recovers from a knee injury.
Speaking about the youngster’s qualities, Heed boss Gary Mills said: “Sirrell is a tall and strong player with a good left foot.
“He likes to get forward and is a player with a lot of qualities.”
