FORMER Bedford Town player Danny Nicholls has been named as the Calor League Premier club’s new manager.
The Eagles had been looking for a new boss after Lee Bearman left on Boxing Day following a run of seven defeats in eight league games that culminated in a 5-1 thrashing against Biggleswade Town.
After a 2-0 loss at Redditch last Saturday, the Eagles are fourth bottom of the league and six points from safety.
Nicholls, a former player at the Eyrie, will take charge of his first game tomorrow as the club welcomes Corby Town in desperate need of three points.
A former manager at Kettering Town, Aylesbury United, Hemel Hempstead and assistant at Corby, Nicholls is a UEFA A licensed coach and has recently been coaching at an elite academy in Northampton.
Assisting Nicholls will be former Everton and Derby County player Alan Biley.
