GRIMSBY TOWN boss Paul Hurst has been rewarded for the job he has done at Blundell Park with a new contract.
Hurst took over as Mariners sole boss in September when joint-manager Rob Scott, who he had been with at both Ilkeston and Boston previously, was sacked.
The former Rotherham defender has led Grimsby to fourth in the Skrill Premier and was given the November Manager of the Month award.
And he has now been given a new revised six-month rolling deal at the club to reflect his responsibilities.
Mariners director John Fenty said: “We are delighted to announce that Paul has signed a revised contract.
“The only aspect of change is monitory. In essence the contract reflects the fact that Paul is a lone manager, obviously before he was a joint manager with Rob Scott and that carried an overall price tag.
“This has now been agreed to be adjusted and I am delighted to say that things are going well.
“It looks like we now have a fantastic team-spirit and camaraderie, this emanates from the top. The management have instilled that in the players and things are working well in that department – probably the best I’ve ever seen.
“Obviously Paul is his own man, he knows what he wants, and to that degree we’ve had some challenging debates, but it is a very, very healthy relationship.”
