Nicky Law tips Reds to bounce back in FA Cup

NICKY LAW has challenged his side to bounce back from their defeat at Stockport County last weekend in their tie on Saturday.

The Reds’ four game winning streak was ended by Neil Young’s County but the run lifted Alfreton up to eighth in the North.

And they face another familiar foe on Saturday in the FA Cup second round qualifying as they travel to .

The Lambs are still unbeaten in the league but have won only four of their 11 games, drawing the other seven.

And Law is hoping his young side continue to improve and refrain from being their “own worst enemy”.

He said: “They (the players) have not got to be too dejected, it’s just one game. There is nothing we can do about the past, only learn from it. We move on and try and build another run.

“We beat ourselves at Stockport. That’s the only thing when you have got a group of youngish ones when they are learning, some of them stopped doing what had won us four games in a row. Stockport were nowhere near the best team we have played this year.

“At times we can be our own worst enemy when we forget what makes us tick.

“It will obviously be a tough game as Tamworth have done really well this season and are unbeaten so far.

“But, we will travel in confidence. They will be confident as well after the start they have had but we have a good record at The Lamb and we just need to channel all our thoughts into progressing in the FA Cup. It is definitely a game we will be relishing.”
