EASTLEIGH‘S FA Cup third round tie against Bolton Wanderers has been selected for ‘extended highlights’ after missing out on live coverage.
The decision to not broadcast Eastleigh’s game with the Championship strugglers has been met with criticism after both Manchester United and Chelsea’s home games were selected. The mundane Tottenham v Leicester pick was also pointed out as an odd decision.
The National League Spitfires are now Non-League‘s only representative left in the FA Cup after Whitehawk lost in extra time to Dagenham & Redbridge last night.
The fee for extended highlights is £6,750 – a far cry from the £144,000 for live coverage – but Eastleigh chairman Stewart Donald confirmed on Twitter that Fox Sports USA had been in touch to outline their interest.
