ALEX LAWLESS has been named FA Cup Player of the Third Round after firing Luton Town to victory over Wolves.
The midfielder crashed home a fine volley shortly after half time to give the Hatters a shock 1-0 win against a side three divisions above them.
His goal booked the Bedfordshire club a trip to Premier League side Norwich City in the Fourth Round and, while they may not make it all the way to Wembley, Lawless will courtesy of competition sponsors Budweiser and The FA.
Along with his invitation to the final, the 29-year-old receives a Player of the Round trophy to commemorate his achievement.
Lawless beat Macclesfield Town’s Matthew Barnes-Homer, Aldershot striker Danny Hylton and Brighton & Hove Albion pair Andrea Orlandi and Liam Bridcutt to the prize.
