SPALDING UNITED have been kicked out of The FA Vase for fielding an ineligible player.
The United Counties League leaders beat Walsall Wood 3-0 in the Second Round last month with striker Garfield Robinson coming on in the 83rd minute.
However, Robinson was under suspension under an assumed name with the Northamptonshire FA and was therefore not allowed to play in the fixture.
The Tulips have subsequently been removed from the competition and have been ordered to reimburse The FA with the £1,200 they received in prize money.
Walsall Wood have been reinstated as a result of Spalding’s exit and will take on Wisbech Town in the Third Round this Saturday.
