■ ASHINGTON are through to the next round of the FA Cup after a hard-earned win over Northern League rivals Ryhope CW.
The Colliers, who reached the fourth qualifying round in 2011, edged past the visitors thanks to Ben Harmison’s effort.
A tight first half brought few chances for either North East team before the Colliers finally broke the deadlock two minutes before the break.
Harmison, younger brother of joint-manager and former England cricketer Steve Harmison, netted after from Jay Hornsby’s corner.
