JIM McFarlane reckons it’s about time AFC Hornchurch enjoyed a decent FA Cup run.
McFarlane was assistant manager to Colin McBride, now chairman, when the Urchins reached the first round proper in 2008, where they played Peterborough United.
The Bostik North side take on league rivals Romford this afternoon in the first round qualifying and the boss is hoping they can kick-start something special.
“We haven’t done badly over the last couple of years, but we haven’t reached a big round, which for clubs like us is the first round proper,” he said.
