■CARSHALTON Athletic were a crossbar’s width away from an upset at Priory Lane, where Eastbourne Borough almost surrended a comfortable lead.
The Sports dominated and surged to 2-0 through a smart Yemi Odubade strike and a Sergio Torres cracker.
Then a freakish own goal from Ian Simpemba allowed the Robins back, before Odubade’s classy header restored the two-goal buffer just before half-time.
Straight after the break 3- 1 became 4-1 through Jamie Taylor’s unerring finish, and Borough were coasting.
But Carshalton dramatically hauled themselves back...
