CHALFONT made heavy weather of overcoming their lower ranked opponents but eventually won through.
The Saints made the early running but were unable to make a first-half breakthrough.
The second half saw more chances but visiting goalkeeper David Myers did well to keep the hosts at bay until Alex Nolan rounded off a good move when heading in a cross at the far post 15 minutes from time.
Lewis Todd then made his only save of the game to deny the visitors an equaliser and Chalfont saw the game out.
