GIANTKILLERS Staveley Miners Welfare were stopped in their tracks by a dominant Chasetown display.
Staveley had their eyes on another Northern Premier Division scalp but it was the hosts making all the early running.
Chasetown had the perfect chance to break the deadlock in the first 90 seconds when Levi Reid slipped the ball into George Cater.
He chipped keeper Myles Wright but the ball was headed off the line by Joe Cheeseman.
It was no surprise when the Scholars opened the scoring after 7 minutes, skipper Ryan Wynter teeing up Cater who slid the ball under Wright.
