HARROGATE Town secured progression into the FA cup first round with a victory over National League leaders FC Halifax Town.
The visitors took the lead in the eighth minute. Brendan Kiernan’s cross from the right deflected off Liam Nolan, and cannoned towards the Halifax goal. Sam Johnson initially managed to keep it out, but Mark Beck was alert to turn in the rebound, giving his side the lead.
