GOALKEEPER Tom Hadler went from zero to hero as Ebbsfleet needed penalties to knock out Hastings.
Hadler saved two spot-kicks in the shoot-out, denying Ryan Worrell and Tom Chalmers, before Rakish Bingham converted the winning penalty.
Fleet went ahead just before the hour when skipper Lee Martin scored a penalty after ex-Fleet man Craig Stone was penalised for handball.
Hastings equalised when Kenny Pogue’s low shot squirmed under Hadler.
