■ A JACK NEWELL screamer guided Bromsgrove Sporting through.
The game got off to a terrible start in the fourth minute, as a 50/50 challenge between Sporting’s Kieran Dunbar and Welwyn’s Callum Taylor resulted in two seriously injuries and a 23-minute stoppage.
There was very little to report for the remainder of the half, with the visitors’
George Ironton and Bromsgrove’s Connor Taylor both having chances.
Newell’s goal came in the 50th minute. He took a touch before unleashing a 30-yarder into the top corner.
