WORKSOP TOWN deservedly won through with a goal in each half and a convincing and powerful performance that a lacklustre Brackley could not match.
An even opening spell gave way to greater possession and growing confidence from the NPL Division One East side. James Hanson’s diving header was saved comfortably but a disallowed goal from a free-kick on the half-hour signalled trouble for the home defensive and it was from a free-kick on 43 minutes that the Tigers took the lead.
