■ TWO early goals helped Hornchurch cruise into the next round as they won at Maldon & Tiptree.
After five minutes, Sam Higgins collected the ball 40 yards out, spotted Tom Middlehurst off his line and sent in a shot which flew over the keeper and into the net. Middlehurst then saved from Higgins before a carboncopy from the same player doubled the Urchins’ lead.
