FINN Whiteley scored the only goal of the game as Fakenham Town bagged a hard-earned win over AFC Rushden & Diamonds.
The Diamonds were not quick out of the traps at Clipbush Park and Whiteley’s impressive finish in the 20th minute gave Andy Cunningham’s side a deserved lead.
The visitors improved after going behind but still struggled to really test host’s stopper Luke Pearson. After the break Rushden edged the exchanges with good chances falling to Ben Garwood and Will Glennon.
