■ PONTEFRACT Collieries secured victory with a dominant performance against Redcar.
Connor Smythe opened the scoring after six minutes, volleying in after a corner dropped in the box.
Pontefract doubled their lead just before half-time when Mikey Dunn was fouled inside the box, allowing Jack Boyle to step up and convert the penalty.
Redcar showed some fight in the second half, coming out strongly, but they couldn’t break down Pontefract’s solid defence.
