HONOURS were even in this mildly entertaining tie, with both sides having chances to win the game.
Bamber Bridge and Newton Aycliffe would trade momentum in the first half, but the first goal arrived when Mark Cullen headed in from close range to give the home side the lead in the 40th minute.
Cieran Jackson almost immediately equalised for the Newtonians, but his shot just was narrowly saved off the line.
