A battling performance ended in late heartbreak for Cribbs.
The Martyrs started the match strongly putting Cribbs under early pressure, but the first goal did not come until 35 minutes when Coles Jarvis’ shot deflected past keeper Kyreese Johnson.
Cribbs turned the match on its head just before half-time. First, Bailey Croome pounced on a save from a Owen Punselie’s header to tap home. Two minutes later the Merthyr keeper’s misdirected clearance found Kosuke Ono, who struck the ball home from 30 yards.
