Boss back at Wembley looking to continue Macc’s proud Trophy tradition

IT’S been 21 years since Macclesfield Town’s last visit to Wembley in the FA Trophy – and this time Macc legend John Askey has got a ticket!

Silkmen boss Askey came to the Cheshire club as a player in 1984 and has stayed ever since. He helped fire them to the Conference title in 1997 and played a part in establishing them in the Football League before hanging up his boots in 2003.
