THE last time Macclesfield Town reached the FA Trophy final, Phil Gibbons made a special appearance on Saturday morning telly.
Gibbons has supported the club since 1964 and on the matchday staff since 1989.
He started out as a steward for two seasons before Macc legend Steve Burr asked if he would help promote his testimonial.
He sold raffle tickets for 20p, organised a quiz night and raised £1,400. That led to his involvement with supporters’ club as social secretary as he continued to help raise funds and promote events, including current boss John Askey’s testimonial.
