■GRANTHAM Town have progressed into the third qualifying round of the FA trophy for the first time in their history with a hardfought win over Kidsgrove Athletic.
Grantham started the game brightly and had a goal disallowed for offside in the first minute. The visitors came out fighting in the second half and after several chances finally broke the deadlock in the 82nd minute, with Curtis Burrows laying the ball on for captain Stefan Galinski to score. The win was secured in extra-time as Lee Shaw got up to score a penalty after being brought down in the box.
