GOALS from Zane Banton and Kieran Monlouis saw St Albans City progress to the second round at the expense of a brave Whitehawk side.
The Hawks made a promising start but a defensive mistake cost them dear on 15 minutes – Ermal Hajdari’s poor pass across the defence saw Banton pounce before beating Sam Donkin one on one.
Steve King’s Hawks, however, kept probing and wasted a great opportunity to level on the half hour when Pape Gueye found himself one on one with Russell – the keeper denying him with his legs.
