AN EXCELLENT contest between two evenly matched sides saw St Neots progress to the second qualifying round.
The visitors just about shaded the goalless first half but St Neots came back strongly to fully deserve their victory.
Nabil Shariff just failed reach a Tom Wood header from a throwin, after which Matlock saw Nathan Whitehead’s free shot skim the wrong side of a post.
Craig King then headed inches wide but St Neots also saw Shariff find the side-netting.
