LEWES staged a dramatic late comeback to force a replay.
The home side started the brighter of the two, with Jonte Smith having a good chance to open the scoring as early as the second minute.
Smith and Luke Blewden both had clear headed chances from corners before the visitors took the lead against the run of play. Steve Cawley was left unmarked in the box to head home.
Hemel doubled their lead shortly after the break, Cawley profiting from sloppy defending to strike low into the far corner and seemingly send Hemel into the next round.
