AFTER their dominant league win over Witham Town, expectations were high for another Hullbridge victory as they took on Ashford Town.
Those hopes were soon crushed, however, it was Ashford Town (Middx) who progressed as Hullbridge crashed out amid dreary and miserable weather to match their performance.
It looked to be heading for a penalty shoot-out as the game reached 80 minutes goalless after almost two halves of scrappy, unentertaining football.
