‘Greed’ is not the Non-League way

IT was disappointing, but predictable, to read that the larger clubs in the Non-League family believe in the Premier Greed motto “The rich must become still richer” (NLP, October 25).
While clearly the distribution of monies to the National League clubs has been opaque and the procedure unsatisfactory, the true Non-League fraternity still, one hopes, values things like community, fun and sportsmanship.
Probably the National League made a mistake in aligning itself with the ‘elite clubs’: these clubs are not Manchester United, and different rules should apply.
