■ BEDFORD progressed through to the next round with a single-goal win over St Neots at The Eyrie.
The early goal, clinically finished by Rene Howe, came after Will Summerfield had put over an inch-perfect pass from the left flank after just four minutes.
Both sides had periods of possession and attacking, and both keepers had to be alert.
Louis Chadwick expertly tipped a Craig Mackail-Smith shot round the post, and Alex Street denied a long range free kick from Charlie Johnson.
The second half was quiet compared to the first, but both sides stayed competitive.
