A DOMINANT first-half display ending in a goal seconds before the break proved enough to see Chorley into the third round.
But they were made to fight as the visitors, anonymous in the first half, showed some of the ability which has put them firmly in the title race in their division.
From the outset Leek could not match the pace of the Magpies who moved the ball quickly, while often too easily dispossessing the visitors in midfield. Connor Hall almost gave Chorley an early lead with a lobbed shot which bounced off the bar.
