MARSKE’S late recovery nsaw them turn around a half-time deficit and shock the hosts who had won the league game 4-1 at the same venue less than a month earlier.
It looked straightforward for the Gladiators at gthe break, Jorome Slew putting Matlock ahead on 26 minutes following a mix-up in the visitors’ defence.
Matlock piled on the pressure but switched off after the break and Marske, to their credit, made hay.
They were level on 76 minutes when Jamie Sharman handled and Dale Hopson converted from the spot.
And they clinched victory three minutes...
