IT was the Isle of Thanet that came out on top in the battle of the islands as Ramsgate saw off Sheppey.
Sheppey forced Ramsgate on the defensive in the early stages but lacked a finishing touch, and Rams keeper Tom Hadler was a busy man, making a couple of excellent low saves.
It was 33 minutes before the Rams had their first real foray forward, a long ball out wide to Jack Parter saw him play in Joe Taylor who laid it off only for a couple of shots to be blocked.
