■ DESPITE admittedly making the afternoon a little trickier than desired, Hanley Town put themselves into the hat for the next round with a slim win over Sherwood Colliery.
The first 15 minutes saw a solid Hanley start. Fans at Potteries Park witnessed the hosts practically camped out in the Sherwood half, and after a handful of wasted half-chances, Joel Stair broke the deadlock. It seemed like sheer relief for the team, yet after the break that relief nearly turned to dread. Almost as soon as the second period began, a rare Sherwood attack saw them win a penalty....
