FA Trophy and FA Vase fourth round draw: York City take on Gainsborough Trinity

The fourth-round fixtures for the Isuzu FA Trophy and FA Vase were drawn on Monday to be played on Saturday 4 January 2025 and Saturday 11 January 2025 respectively.

National League leaders York City will travel to seventh-tier side Gainsborough Trinity, who currently play in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.

The Minstermen defeated National League North side Darlington in the third round thanks to second-half goals from Ricky Aguiar and Tyrese Sinclair at the LNER Community Stadium.

York face away trip to Lincolnshire

Trinity defeated National League North side Rushall Olympic 2-1 on Saturday to progress to the fourth round.

Russ Wilcox, who managed City over nine years ago, defeated fellow NLN side in the previous round and recently reached the second round of the FA Cup, before bowing out against Harrogate Town.

Their league form has not been as great as their cup runs, residing in 20th place in the table after 13 games.

However, they have played at least five games less, due to their form in the cup competitions, than everyone else in the league.

Elsewhere in the draw, Aldershot Town will take on one of Dagenham & Redbridge or Southern Football League Premier Division Chertsey Town when they play each other on Wednesday night.

Northern Premier League Premier Division side Stockton Town – after they upset Oldham Athletic in the previous round – will be away to one of Leamington or Rochdale.

There is an all-National League clash between Altrincham and Barnet to be played at Moss Lane.

Fourth round winners will receive £5,250 in prize money, with losers receiving £1,500.

FA Vase fourth round

Before South Liverpool and Albion Sports play each other on Wednesday 11 December, only 10 teams are confirmed for the fourth round, with multiple ties set to take place on Saturday 14 December as well.

The only tie to be fully confirmed so far is March Town United versus Daventry Town.

Members of the United Counties League Premier Division South, the Hares defeated FC 1-0 at home to progress to the next round.

The Town, who are members of the same league, beat Newark Town FC 11-10 on penalties after the game ended 1-1, at Newark’s ground.
