FOUR-time Vase winners Whitley Bay lost a seven-goal thriller at two-time finalists West Auckland in dramatic fashion.
Bay twice led by two goals, but West refused to lie down and scored the clincher in the eighth minute of injury-time. Alex Kempster’s double put Bay in control at the break – the first from the penalty spot, and Liam Brooks with the assist for the second.
Auckland missed a penalty at the other end –Anthony Bell’s penalty striking the inside of the post.
