BOLDMERE fought off a stern challenge from Step 7 Vase minnows GNP to progress.
On five minutes, GNP keeper James Wardle made a fine save to thwart a 50-yard effort from Craig Milligan but was injured and replaced by Scott Davis.
Unfortunaely, Davis’s first action was to pick the ball out of his net as Rikardo Reid gave the Mikes the lead.
It was 2-0 on 20 minutes as Owen Parry played a delightful cross-field ball to Alister Braun whose cross was met at the far post with a header from Parry.
