DUNSTONUTS warmed up for their big FA Cup derby against Gateshead by recording a 13th consecutive win.
But unbeaten Dunston had to come from behind in their all Northern League tie at Billingham Town. Jake Stafford’s equaliser on the stroke of half-time with a free-kick under the wall cancelled out Dan Flounders’ opener.
Town’s cause hadn’t been helped by the loss of goalkeeper Ollie Simpson as their 13 game unbeaten start came to an end.
Dunston striker Liam Brooks’ second half double put the Tyneside outfit safely through to the second round.
