CAPTAIN Mike Hyem’s sliding finish settled matters in favour of a Godmanchester side who just about deserved victory.
There was a swift tempo throughout this erratic clash but Rovers won most of the second balls on a testing surface and made the better chances.
It was end to end from the outset with Khalsa’s Dan Westwood heading high and wide from Mensah Kinch’s cross 13 minutes in.
Austen Diaper’s shot too high for Rovers and that sparked a flurry of openings for the hosts.
