NEWTON Abbot’s ability to take chances proved decisive in a fastpaced encounter that saw openings aplenty at both ends.
The excitement took time to build and properly kicked off when Wells went within a whisker of opening the scoring half an hour in, several players having a swing in a mass of bodies before the danger was averted.
City’s Harry Foster then drew a point-blank save seven minutes before the interval but there was just enough time for Spurs to break the deadlock on the stroke of half-time.
